Alcántara Sgarbí, Ricardo

Ricardo Alcántara was born in Uruguay in 1946 but he has now lived in Barcelona for years. He studied Psychology. His stories have been published in several Spanish newspapers. He has published around 200 books already, all aimed at children and youth, and many of them have won prestigious awards such as the Lazarillo, Serra d’Or, Apel·les Mestres, Espasa Calpe, White Ravens or Honourable Mention in the Children’s Literature Award Governador do Estado of Sao Paulo (Brazil). His books have successfully been translated into English, Turkish, German, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Greek, Korean … He has also written plays and television series.
