Giménez de Ory, Beatriz

Beatriz Giménez de Ory (Madrid, 1972) is a celebrated Spanish author known for her outstanding contributions to children’s and young adult’s literature. With a degree in Hispanic Literature from the Complutense University of Madrid, her work masterfully combines linguistic artistry with themes that inspire imagination and reflection.

She has published numerous books, many of which have been recognized with prestigious awards (Premio Internacional de Poesía para Niños Ciudad de Orihuela, Luna de Aire Award, Fundación Cuatrogatos, IBBY Gold medal Colibrí –Chile, White Raven, New York City Big Book Award or  Brain Child Award), including the Premio Nacional de Literatura Infantil y Juvenil (Spanish National award for Children’s and Young Adult Literature) in 2021 for her book Un hilo me liga a vos. Her writing, often characterized by lyrical language and deep emotional resonance, reflects a commitment to fostering a love for literature among young readers.

In addition to her role as a writer, Beatriz works as a High School teacher, sharing her passion for literature and language with her students. Her books showcase her talent for blending traditional forms with modern sensibilities, creating works that are timeless yet innovative.
