Beatriz Giménez de Ory (Madrid, 1972) is one of the most respected voices in Spanish children’s and young adult literature. She studied Hispanic Literature at the Complutense University of Madrid and combines writing with teaching language and literature at secondary school.

Her books are known for their imagination, linguistic precision and emotional resonance. She has received major national and international recognition, including the Spanish National Award for Children’s and Young Adult Literature in 2021 for Un hilo me liga a vos and the Edebé Award for Children’s Literature.

Her work has also been recognised with the Ciudad de Orihuela International Poetry award, the Luna de Aire Award, Fundación Cuatrogatos, IBBY Gold Medal Colibrí – Chile, White Raven, New York City Big Book Award and Brain Child Award. Her storytelling blends lyrical language, creativity and a deep sense of wonder.
