Muñoz Avia, Rodrigo

Rodrigo Muñoz Avia (Madrid, 1967). Graduated in Philosophy from the Complutense University of Madrid, currently his priority activity is literary, which alternates with being a film scriptwriter and with the dissemination and interpretation of the work of his parents, the painters Lucio Muñoz and Amalia Avia. In 2005 he published Psychiatrists, Psychologists and Other Patients, with well-deserved public success. His latest novel, published in 2007, is Terrestrial Lives. He has also published the youth novels What we do not know (Alfaguara Young adult, Jaén award 1996) and The hockey goalkeeper, and the children's novels Julia and Gus visit the top manta and The perfect ones (Premio Edebé of Children's Literature 2007). As a film scriptwriter, he collaborates regularly with his brother Nicolás Muñoz, highlighting the scripts for the feature films Rewind (1998) and Animales decompany (2008). He has also carried out the work of compiling and introducing two books especially dear to him, one about his best friend, a mountaineer who died in the Himalayas in 2001 (Alfonso Vizán, a pirate in the mountain, 2004) and another about the writings that left by his father (Lucio Muñoz, the rabbit in the top hat, 2006).
