Lucía is a little girl who is afraid of everything, especially the dark. On her sixth birthday, her godmother gives her a kitten, even more scared than she is. They give him the name of I don't know in response to the girl's hesitation and, at night, they leave him alone in the living room. However, the cat does not stop meowing and Lucía decides to go and look for him, as she understands that he is smaller than her and much more afraid. Together, as they feel the warmth of each other's bodies, many of the fears they feel end up disappearing.
Ricardo Alcántara was born in Uruguay in 1946 but he has now lived in Barcelona for years. He studied Psychology. His stories have been published in several Spanish newspapers. He has published around 200 books already, all aimed at children and youth, and many of them have won prestigious awards such as the Lazarillo, Serra d’Or, Apel·les Mestres, Espasa Calpe, White Ravens or Honourable Mention in the Children’s Literature Award Governador do Estado of Sao Paulo (Brazil). His books have successfully been translated into English, Turkish, German, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Greek, Korean … He has also written plays and television series.
