The orphans who are part of the Academy, led by the young Sofia Hypatia, use a revolutionary way of thinking, based on philosophy, to find new clues that allow them to find the most wanted criminal. The disappearance of several elderly people makes the members of the Academy suspect that the cases are related. However, the police do not believe this and do not give importance to these absences, until the discovery of a corpse on the beach reinforces the theory that there is a ruthless killer of elderly people in the city.
Cuca Canals has a degree in journalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Until 1992 she worked in advertising, winning the most important national and international awards. As a screenwriter she has worked with Bigas Luna on many of his films, such as Jamón-Jamón (Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival) and La Camarera del Titanic (Goya Award for best screenplay) to name just a couple. She has published four adult fiction novels and several children’s books, among which stand out for their success among readers, her middle grade series The Young Poe and Philo & Sophia.
