My name is Jaime Mercader – although some people still know me as Little Jim – I was born on the XNUMXst June XNUMX in Aranjuez, a town in Madrid and these are my memories. In a way, I was a prodigy child, but, unfortunately for public morality, the activity that converted me in prodigious was poker. But, what else could anyone expect from Fernando Mercader's son, a big cheater and a swindler. I was born with a pack of cards in hand, my dear friends, and ever since, I have not let go of them. Being a child, and fleeing away from justice, my father and I were compelled to emigrate ourselves to America. And straight away the problems began. But if the shaking adventures, the amazing mysteries and eccentric people attract you, then do not hesitate paying the few coins that publishers ask for this volume, because that is exactly my life: one silly act to another.
César Mallorquí (Barcelona, 1953). He studied journalism at the Complutense University of Madrid and worked in La Codorniz and for the radio station Cadena SER. He also worked as a creative in an advertising agency for many years. At the beginning of the 90’s he started his literary career and, since then, he has obtained several awards such as Alberto Magno award 1992, UPC award 1995, Gigamesh award 1996, EDEBÉ award 1996, 2002, 2012, Gran Angular 2001, White Raven 2013, and Ibby Honor list as well as the Spanish National Children and
Young Adult Award, 2013. In 2015 his prolific career was recognized with the Cervantes Chico Award.
