Palmira hates her name. Her parents had decided to name their children using the names of their favourite cities. Her older sister is called Vienna, and as she often says: “we ought to be glad that they didn’t ever visit Bath or Cork”. Except for this one detail and her enmity with Sergio, Palmira lived happy, until she met another girl named Palmira, who is slightly older than she is and who lives in a refugee camp after having escaped the war in Syria. This then sets off a revolution in her life!
A story that raises awareness of the plight of children who have had their lives shattered by war and who are living miserably in refugee camps.
Gisela Pou nació en Castellar del Vallés (Barcelona) en el año 1959. Es licenciada en Ciencias Biológicas y tiene un máster en Guión televisivo. Desde hace más de veinte años, se dedica a escribir guiones televisivos y compagina su trabajo con su pasión: la literatura. Ha escrito para el público infantil y Young adult obras como La edad del loro (publicada por Edebé) y diversas novelas para adultos, entre las que destacan El silencio de las viñas y La voz invisible.
