Born in Malaga in 1947, he is one of the greatest exponents of the European urban crime novel. Journalist and film scriptwriter as well as a writer, Juan Madrid developed various professions before coming to journalism in 1973. He has a degree in Contemporary History from the University of Salamanca, and has collaborated as an editor in various magazines such as Cambio 16, in addition to writing numerous reports in other international media. In the literary field he has published nearly forty books, including novels, collections of stories in children's literature and Young adult, and his works have been translated into sixteen languages.
