EDEBÉ Children's Literature Award 2006: Rosanda y el arte de birli birloque, Angeles Gonzalez-Sinde

The screenwriter and film director Ángeles González-Sinde was born in Madrid, the city where she currently resides, in 1965 into a family dedicated to cinema.

Graduated in Classical Philology from the Complutense University of Madrid, she has a Master's Degree in Film Script Writing from the Autonomous University of Madrid and a Master of Fine Arts from the American Film Institute (Los Angeles, USA).

He writes for television in series such as Truhanes, Turno de oficio, Growing together, La casa de los líos, At eleven at home, Cuéntame como paso and Manolito Gafotas, all in collaboration with Alberto Macías.

Starting in 1993, he collaborated closely with Ricardo Franco in the development of several feature-length scripts, among which The Good Star stands out, for which both received the Goya for Best Screenplay in 1997. Later he wrote Lágrimas negra, also directed by Ricardo Franco; Second skin, directed by Gerardo Vera; The Reasons of My Friends, adaptation of Belén Gopegui's novel The Conquest of the Air, directed by Gerardo Herrero.

In collaboration with screenwriter Alberto Macías, he writes Antigua Vida Mía, a Spanish-Argentine co-production directed by Héctor Olivera and adaptation of the novel of the same name by Marcela Serrano. He has also collaborated on the script for El Misterio Galíndez, directed by Gerardo Herrero; The Whore and the Whale, directed by Luis Puenzo and written with him and Lucía Puenzo; and The life that awaits you, by Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón.

In 2005, the comedy Between Living and Dreaming, by Menkes and Albacete, written with them, and Heroína, directed by Gerardo Herrero, were released, for which they received the Best Screenplay Award at the Malaga Festival. The Difficult Airs is his next script to be released, co-written with Alberto Macías and directed by Gerardo Herrero based on the novel by Almudena Grandes.

In 2003, González-Sinde released La luck dormida, a film that marks his directorial debut, whose script he co-wrote with Belén Gopegui, and for which he received the Goya for Best New Director, among other awards. She is currently writing the script for 7 minutes, her second feature film as a director, a script that she is preparing in collaboration with Daniela Fejerman.

Aside from film and television, he has also written the comedy Rulos for theater in collaboration with Alberto Macías and directed by Fernando Soto, and has adapted the feature Séptimo cielo by Caryl Churchill directed by José Pascual.

In addition to his activity as a screenwriter, he carries out intermittent teaching activities at film schools such as the one in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. She was president of ALMA, Literary Authors of Audiovisual Media, until November 2001, and a member of the board of directors of the management entity DAMA, Copyright of Audiovisual Media.

Currently he continues writing for film, theater and television and directing, but he has also discovered his talent for telling stories for children, which he has always been passionate about. Rosande and the art of birli birloque marks her debut in the literary field.
