Paloma Bordons was born in Madrid in 1964 but she lives in Brighton (London). She learned reading on her own and started painting and writing at a very early age. Her grandfather cooperated with a printing house and used to bring her elegant fabric-covered notebooks, thick as Bibles, where she wrote and illustrated her first stories.

She holds a degree in Forest Engineering and started working as a documentarian in the library of CSIC (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas) while she started studying her other degree in Language and Literature.

She finally published her first book back in 1986 when she ended finalist of Barco de Vapor award and since then she has not stopped publishing. She has published more than 50 books so far and she has won, among other awards, the edebé award (back in 2004 with Mi abuelo el presunto) or the Barco de Vapor award.

Paloma also loves to paint so most of her books are published with her own illustrations. Although she doesn’t consider herself as a painter, she is really good at it too.
