Francisco Díaz Valladares (born in Seville, 1950) began his literary career in 2003 and has since published more than twenty books, most of them aimed at Young Adult readers. His work has received several prestigious awards, including the Edebé award, the Alandar award, and the Lazarillo award — which he won with this novel.
