Rodríguez Suárez, Mónica

Mónica Rodríguez was born in Oviedo, Spain (1969) and has lived in Madrid since 1993. She has a degree in Physical Sciences, with a Master's degree in Nuclear Energy. For fifteen years she worked in a research center, the Ciemat. In 2003 she published her first children's book. In 2009 she left her job at said center to dedicate herself entirely to Children's and Young People's Literature. She has published just over sixty books. She has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Ala Delta Award, the Anaya Award, the Alandar Award, the Gran Angular Award, and the Cuatrogatos Foundation Award on five occasions. In 2018 she was awarded the Cervantes Chico award for Children's and Young Adult Literature for her career, which she has also been recognized with the María Elvira Muñiz 2021 award from the Gijón Book Fair.
