At the age of thirteen, Blanca catches hepatitis which means that she is bed bound for two whole months. To entertain herself and encouraged by her mother, she begins to put together a photo album. The photos remind her of forgotten images which enable her to recall her entire life: the experiences she had lived during her childhood, relationships with relatives, her friends, the discovery of feelings as crucial as love, fears and uncertainties...
Nació en Vilalba (Lugo) y, desde hace veinte años, reside en Vigo. Además de Perito Industrial, es Maestro y Licenciado en Ciencias de la Educación. Durante más de tres décadas, trabajó como docente en la enseñanza primaria y en la secundaria. En la actualidad, se dedica exclusivamente a la escritura. Es autor de numerosos títulos, dirigidos preferentemente a lectores infantiles y juveniles. Sus libros, escritos en gallego, se traducen habitualmente a las otras lenguas españolas. Ademas de premios tan relevantes como el Lazarillo o el Nacional de Literatura, también ha obtenido el Premio EDEBÉ, tanto en su Modalidad Young adult como en su Modalidad Infantil. En el año 2011, ha sido seleccionado como candidato español al prestigioso Premio Andersen.
